Dodging the RoadkillCadiz, Ky — I’ve spent the last couple of days just cruising around the Kentucky back country, scoping out some of the beautiful lake property you’ll find there.  Barkley Lake is a favorite spot for fishermen, hunters, campers and weekend “lake lovers.”

Today, I was working with a realtor looking at a few houses and when we were done, I realized I hadn’t had anything to eat, so I headed to downtown Cadiz.

I love the downtown of ANY city because that’s where you’ll find the personality of most communities.  Locally owned shops, restaurants, farmer’s market and more.  On this day, I noticed a cute little restaurant named, Reva’s Place.

After parking the Harley, I went in and asked if I could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful day.

Reva has owned the restaurant for five years.  It’s a very popular breakfast spot and features a lunch buffet.  You’ll find the Friday fish buffet a popular item along with steaks, grilled chicken and a variety of sandwiches.

On this day, I ordered a hamburger, chips and a huge cup of delicious iced tea.

The service was extremely friendly, the atmosphere was perfect and the food was good.

All the usual sides are on the menu like french fries, tater tots, baked potato, onion rings, soup and more.  You’ll also find some of the latest town “news” or “gossip” I’m sure.

The breakfast menu has all of my favorites.  Omelets, eggs, country ham, sausage, bacon, biscuits and more.

If you want a good home cooked meal in a friendly setting and in a friendly little town, then visit Cadiz, Ky and stop in at Reva’s Place.  You won’t regret it.
